September Adventures & Current Favourites

September was probably the most intense and active month so far this year. We are not complaining because it involved a couple of sunny trips, finalising our new 2018 diary (YAY! more info about this coming very soon) and a very happy wedding. We thought we would share a few of our favourite moments and things from the previous month, so here we go…

We believe in hard work, but that must always be balanced with some rest, play and making sure that we do what makes our souls happy. So at the end of August we decided to take a much needed time off together, relaxing, brainstorming and just spending some time in the sunshine. We were after a sun-kissed skin, swimming, beautiful views, delicious food and vibrant city but also sandy beaches not too far away. After some research we found that Mallorca should tick off all of the requirements. And let me tell you - we were not disappointed when we got there. If anything, it truly surprised me and made us all wonder - how on earth we have not been here before? This gem is less than a 2 hour flight away from London.

It was probably one of the most relaxing trips I've ever been on. We started our days with delicious acai bowls and almond milk cappuccinos, then either wondered around the beautiful city of Palma or went on a little road trip in search of charming, white-sanded beaches.

To see more (gorgeous!) photos and read more about where we went, what we ate and what we enjoyed the most about this little paradise on earth that is definitely worth a visit (or a few), head over to Kat's travel blog.

P.S. I'm just warning you that entering her blog might result in you booking a trip to one of the destinations she's blogged about as her photos are out. of. this. world.

Always joyful Kat :)

I have a really bad habit of overpacking. Not only clothes, but also books and stationery. I like to think that in 4 days I would somehow manage to read 4 books and make notes in approximately 3 notebooks. That has happened exactly… NEVER. And I guess it's a good thing, because it means I'm too busy having a great time :)

On one of our flights together with Kat she had to take a couple of my books because my suitcase exceeded the weight restriction, so I thought I would be smarter with our trip to Mallorca and restrict myself to only one book. And I'm happy I chose to take Mark Manson's “The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck”.

I have also been enjoying reading Mark Manson's blog. I love his refreshing and brutally honest take on topics such as relationships, habits, self-improvement, etc. His articles usually make me think to myself - gosh, that's so true. And the best thing about it is that it can really change your perspective on life, if you are willing to take action and responsibility of your own choices. So I knew that his book must be just as good and I wasn't wrong there.

I managed to read a few chapters while we were having the most relaxing time by the beach and more than once this book made me read out a paragraph from this book to the girls to interrupt them being super relaxed, soaking up the sun. There is just too much truth in this book, not to let others know about it.

Here are some of my favourite quotes/truths from this book:

The desire for more positive experience is itself a negative experience. And, paradoxically, the acceptance of one's negative experience is itself a positive experience

Happiness is a form of action; it's an activity, not something that is passively bestowed upon you, not something that you magically discover in a top-ten article on the Huffington Post or from any specific guru or teacher. It doesn't magically appear when you finally make enough money to add on that extra room in the house. Happiness is a constant work-in-progress, because solving problems is a constant work-in-progress - the solutions to today's problems will lay the foundation for tomorrow's problems and so on. True happiness occurs only when you find the problems you enjoy having and enjoy solving

Everyone wants to love a carefree, happy, and easy life, to fall in love and have amazing sex and relationships, to look perfect and make money and be popular and well-respected and admired and a total baller to the point that people part like the Red Sea when they walk into the room. Everybody wants that. It's easy to want that. A more interesting question, a question that most people never consider, is “What pain do you want in your life? What are you willing to struggle for?” Because that seems to be a greater determinant of how our lives turn out. Pleasure is the easy question. And pretty much all of us have the a similar answer

We had wanted to get our hands on a Polaroid camera for a while, especially for capturing memories on trips and adventures. There is just something special and fun about having an instant photo of the moment you are in and being able to keep it in your purse, planner or add somewhere on your workspace. A visual reminder of all the good times :) Plus, it doesn't hurt that is has such a cute design.

We teamed up with the awesome team behind InstaX UK and took one of their cameras on our trip to Mallorca. Keep an eye out on our Insta later on this week. We have planned something special for you :)

I had my marble sticker on my laptop for almost two years and a few weeks ago I decided it was time to change it. We came across CaseApp - a brand that does really cute phone and laptop cases. The cool thing about this company is that you can choose from their available, pre-made designs or you can create your own, customised one.

Even though the love for marble patterns is still strong, I decided to changed things up and go for something a bit more fun and unique and chose this really pretty parrot and flowers skin. While working on my laptop at coffee shops, I've received so many compliments on it. It truly stands out.

For the phone case we decided it would be great to create our own design and we took inspiration from our own Instagram account and chose this funky quote (which is such a sweet everyday reminder).

P.S, Let us know if you also like this design, we will be more than happy to share it with you. Also, CaseApp kindly shared a discount code that you can use for 20% off in case you decide to get one of these cute cases for yourself. Use DEARDIARY20 at the checkout. The code is active until November 30th.
